Wellcome Manor Family Services

Wellcome Manor is a residential in-patient treatment center for

women living with drug and alcohol addiction.  At Wellcome

Manor, children are a part of the recovery process.  Children are

able to live with mom during this time of change so they can make

changes together.

  • Phase I

Phase I Programming is a 30-day primary residential treatment. This is the basic or the cornerstone of recovery. Clients become aware of their loss of control and how the use of chemicals has caused them major life problems. They also look at the personality changes caused by their chemical use and seek ways to make appropriate changes for lifelong recovery. After identifying the problems they start reaching out to others for help; to maintain their sobriety. Phase I brings the client through steps 1, 2 and 3 of a 12 step program. Some parenting skills are offered in the program.

  • Phase II

Phase II is an extended care residential program designed for the person who has recently completed a primary (Phase I) treatment program and needs longer term help in order to remain clean and sober. This is for the person who may have had other treatments that were not successful and clients that struggle with letting go of past behavior patterns. The client focuses on recovery skills that look further into behaviors and acceptance of the illness of chemical dependency they are presented with. Clients work on looking more deeply into character defects and old patterns that keep them using chemicals and block them from long term sobriety. More in-depth parenting skills are learned and practiced as well as other life skills such as nutrition and wellness.  The length of stay in this phase of the program is varied in length with a minimum of 60 days. Length of stay recommendations depend largely on clinical as well as parenting progress in treatment. Step work in this phase of treatment varies with each individual client.

  • Phase III - Beginning January 2009

The final phase of programming will encompass Phase I and II and allow them to learn what it will take for them to live outside the program while still receiving counseling, life skills training, parenting and nutrition education.  Clients are required to obtain employment, attend school or do volunteer work 30 or more hours per week.
